Climate Master™ Programs Pass Into Law

Oregon legislators recognized the quality of, and statewide need for, our Climate Master™ program in passing Oregon SB942, the Oregon Climate Corps Act. The act authorizes Climate Masters as the state climate change outreach program and says that as funding is available, the University of Oregon in consultation with Oregon State University Extension Service shall implement the program.

The new law authorizes, “Climate Masters program to help Oregon residents, businesses and other entities increase their understanding of climate change, to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and to address the climate change challenges that Oregon faces.” The legislation became effective June 23, 2009.
